AffiliateManager.net includes links to numerous resources. Most recently, they've published the Affiliate Metrix Executive Summary, which reports results of an extensive survey of 145 affiliate managers on affiliate basics, program providers, promotion, management, and education. 

The book Successful Affiliate Marketing for Merchants is a step-by-step primer on setting up and managing your affiliate program. List price is $27.50. The book's co-authors are Frank Fiore (Primeview's VP of Sales and Marketing) and Shawn Collins (ClickZ Columnist).

AssociatePrograms.com is a directory of more than 3,000 affiliate programs. Each listing has a link to the program description as well as a rating section.

Creating Affiliate Programs

In addition to its basic service, The Affiliate Tracking Network also offers check handling to your affiliates and submission to affiliate directory sites. Set-up runs from low-$ for the basic program up to about low-$$ for the complete package. Monthly fee is low/low-$ plus a small additional fee for check handling.

Affiliate Marketing Management Tools

FileMaker Pro data management software from FileMaker can help keep track of and analyze numerous affiliations or any other information database. The software also allows you to publish data on an intranet (FileMaker Pro, high-$) or on the Internet (FileMaker Pro Unlimited, low-$$$).

The Internet Marketing Center® offers their AssocTRAC software for mid-$$, plus a low/low-$ monthly fee for the AssocTrac service. Their site contains some impressive testimonials about the program as well as general information for setting up your own affiliate program.

Reciprocal Link Sites

LinkLeads members trade links with each other through an “ordering” system.

ReciprocalLink.com includes both articles and reciprocal link listings. Companies seeking reciprocal partners list the types of sites they are interested in linking with as well as the URLs to their links page and home page.
