Dear Reader -

This is a special edition of Website Marketing Plan News.
It contains no advertisements and no affiliate links. Those of
you who have been subscribers for awhile know I do not often
send out special editions. In fact, this is the first.

Given the subject matter, I felt compelled...Today, I just
want to share with you the ongoing battle faced by some 9/11
victims. I and other newsletter publishers ask that you help
these victims - *not* by sending money, but by sharing your
dismay with public officials and government representatives.

You can also help by spreading the word - email, call, or
write those you know who may be willing to help. Please, no
s^pamming your address book list. Unsolicited bulk email -
even for a noble cause - is still considered sp~am by many.
:-)

You can also send the page by clicking on the "Send this page to
a friend" button, filling in the form, and submitting:

Put Yourself in Their Shoes
~~~~~~~~
Think of the shock and horror you *still* feel - more than a
year later. Think how much worse if you lived just four
blocks from Ground Zero. Now, add health issues to the
emotional turmoil - smoke inhalation-induced asthma, mercury
poisoning, post traumatic stress and a host of other
conditions - so many that you have to move out of your home
to a safer environment.
Your deposit - which the landlord refuses to return - pays
rent through the end of 2001. Your landlord is lucky enough
to find tenants that move in by January.
Fast forward to about one year later. You open your mailbox
and find - no doubt tucked between a medical bill or two - a
notice from your New York City landlord - pay up $21,000 for
the remainder of the lease or be sued. Never mind that your
deposit had covered rent for the whole time the apartment
was vacant.
This was exactly B.L. Ochman's situation. The proprietor of
whatsnextonline.com has struggled with medical problems for
a year. She's been unable to regularly publish her
newsletter and no doubt has had to reduce or stop her
consulting work. To top it off, her former landlords - Ocean
Partners, LLC - sued for her lease balance even though they
had filled her vacant apartment.
Fortunately, B.L. Ochman is a public relations expert and it
looks as if she was able to garner enough media support and
pressure to convince Ocean Partners, LLC to back down.
Other, less able victims, are not so lucky. They do not have
Ms. Ochman's resources or drive. They are the ones that need
your help.
What You Can Do
~~~~~~~~

John Counsel, CEO of The Profit Clinic,
www.profitclinic.com, is coordinator for the
"Enough!" campaign.

In John's own words, here is what you can do to help...

WRITE TO THESE PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES

We understand that elected representatives are prohibited by
law from getting involved in the legal affairs of their
constituents, and rightly so.

But that's not what we're calling for with this campaign.

What we're seeking is their assistance with the ISSUES and
the PRINCIPLES at stake here. There needs to be a clear cut
public stand by them on the part of their electors -- not
just their wealthy campaign fund contributors. And it needs
to be backed up by tangible ACTION.

Write (politely, please) to these elected representatives to
express your support for them in supporting their
constituents who are being terrorised all over again, a year
down the track.

IMPORTANT: It's a documented fact that HANDWRITTEN letters
have the most impact on politicians and bureaucrats. They
have a hard copy and have to do something with it. To be
really certain, certified mail, for which someone in the
office has to sign, is the best option.

Please bear in mind that this is no longer about B. L.
Ochman. Her personal case is close to being resolved
satisfactorily.

This is about the broader issues of inaction and tardiness
on the part of officials, agencies supposedly set up to help
911 victims, such as FEMA, and the hardship and additional
trauma their failure as entrusted stewards is causing to
thousands of people around Ground Zero, and for which they
will be required to give a public accounting in due course.
There WILL be consequences for failure or neglect.

It's about the hypocrisy of law firms jumping onto the
post-911 bandwagon to offer pro bono services to victims,
then dodging the actual delivery of those promised services,
or doing it so poorly that they merely add to the pain and
suffering of the victims.

The notes are B. L. Ochman's. They're included to illustrate
the known history to date.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Side Note~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Soon after the newsletter went out, I received a response from
B.L. Ochman. She explains in more detail the situation as she sees
it from the victim's view - why The Red Cross is getting a bum rap
and how FEMA and other organizations have made her situation
difficult.
Read her full email here.
Faxed information to them detailing the case and sent the
speak to Juanita at Maloney's office. However, John said to
wait to see what Clinton does and they would step in if
Clinton doesn't help.)
Called me 9/9/02 after receiving email from a constituent.
Said I should email her a list of agencies I need help with
and she will try to help. Says she never got my 8/19 fax,
which I emailed to her again on 9/2/02.
Says my attorney can call her and bounce ideas off her but
that the senator is prohibited by law from getting involved
in the legal issues of constituents.
