St. Louis Area Sidebar...

If you are interested in Web sales and marketing and will be in the St. Louis area, you may want to consider attending the St. Louis Publishers Association meeting next Wednesday, March 10. There'll be a three person Web marketing panel (including yours truly). Admission is free for members; $5 for non-members: http://www.StLouisPublishers.org

The meeting is at 7:00 pm in the Richmond Heights Community Center, 8001 Dale Avenue. That's just south of I-64/40 and immediately east of Hanley Road. Doors open and networking begins at 6:30 pm. Meetings are from 7 to 9 pm.

New Articles...

"The Four Seasons of Publicity" by Bill Moller tells how to put together a year round publicity plan and why it can help your business. There is also some new content on the PublicRelationsArticles.com home page, including ideas for press release subjects.

David Frey's "Seven-Step One-Day Marketing Plan" is a help to those of you who tend to skip planning in favor of "doing". Kind of like having your cake and eating it too!

Enjoy,
Bobette Kyle

 PublicRelationsArticles.com - Public Relations Articles

"The Four Seasons of Publicity: Building an All-Year Publicity Machine"
by Bill Stoller
http://www.publicrelationsarticles.com/FourSeasons.htm

If you're like most publicity seekers, you probably think one project at a time. You've got a new product coming out in April, so you send out a release in March. You've hired a new executive, you'll put out a release when she's on board, etc. A year-round approach can help you score publicity throughout the year, and will help keep your eye on the ball from January through December.

"Communicating Through Public Relations"

Gives several subject areas appropriate for press releases.

MarketingPlanArticles.com - Different Approaches to Marketing Plans

"Your Seven-Step One-Day Marketing Plan" by David Frey
http://www.marketingplanarticles.com/7StepPlan.htm

Most entrepreneurs and business owners are “doers”, not “planners.” In reality, being a doer is perhaps the ultimate mark of a successful person. It’s what makes entrepreneurs a rare breed. Rather than thinking or wishing, they get out there and make something happen.

Many small business owners, however, get into trouble “doing” the wrong marketing activities the right way or “doing” the right marketing activities the wrong way. If you want to “do” the right marketing activities the right way you must start with a marketing plan.

David explains a stream-lined approach to writing a marketing plan.
