Hello Folks -
It's been a busy month for me. Tim (my beau of 20+ years) and
I were married in Las Vegas. It took a while, but we finally
decided the relationship was going to "stick." We had a virtual
wedding, broadcast over the Internet (of course). You'll find a
link to the Webcast and pictures in the "Bobette and Tim Were
Married in Vegas This Month" section.
Naturally, the trip inspired a few ideas for marketing
articles (some a bit racy for this G-rated publication. lol).
Something that amazes me about Las Vegas is it's an isolated
place in the middle of the dessert, yet a thriving industry -
with direct competitors operating side-by-side - has developed
over the years. "Lessons in Prosperous Competition - Vegas
Style" explores that phenomenon.
On a broader note, Scottie Claiborne's "Why the Heck Do You
Have a Website Anyway?" reminds us that our Website - just like
any other business venture - must have a goal in order to
succeed.
Enjoy!
Bobette Kyle

Why the Heck Do You Have a Website Anyway? -
Website Goals |
|
By Scottie Claiborne
http://www.websitemarketingplan.com/online/goals.htm
You've got a website. It's got some cool graphics
and information about your company and maybe even a
shopping cart for selling stuff. You read the High
Rankings Advisor faithfully; you've tweaked your
copy and checked your tags, yet your visitors don't
seem to do what you want them to do. It's time to take a step back and think about why
you built a website in the first place. |

Bobette and Tim Were Married in Vegas This Month |
|
http://www.websitemarketingplan.com/bobette_wedding_pics.htm
This was an exceptional month. Tim Wagner and I had
a virtual
Wedding, with Webcast, in Las Vegas. The family got
a chat room
and watched the Webcast together from their homes
(We were
bad and snuck off without telling them we were going
to be
married).
Tim and I have been together since we met in 1984.
(My 22-year-old daughter, Amarette, was 11 months old back
then. She
is SO happy we finally "took the plunge.")
I've put up some pictures and a link to the Webcast.

Lessons in
Prosperous Competition - Vegas Style |
|
http://www.websitemarketingplan.com/small_business/competition.htm My recent trip
to Las Vegas inspired thoughts about how
direct competitors can thrive in the same physical or
virtual space. I often hear people overly concerned that
their actions will somehow help the competition. While it's
strategically healthy to be aware of competitors'
activities, an obsession with doing absolutely nothing to
help a competitor can be detrimental to your own business. |
