Customer
buying stages, learn to accept online payments
Hello All -
When I first started working on this issue, I envisioned a feature article
contrasting information sites with sales sites and explaining how they each can fit
into your marketing plan.
Instead, I ended up with *four* articles that, together, show you: how (and
why) your sites can meet your marketing goals while also meeting visitors'
information needs; ways to meet your visitors' needs with the right
information; tips to make it easier for customers to order online; and ideas for
profiting from information sites.
Today I have two of the first four articles...
My article "Reach Your Website Marketing Goals (Part 1 of 2): Understanding
the Customer Decision Making Process" helps you understand
your visitors' decision making process while effectively pulling
visitors through to the purchase stage.
In "They're Searching So Why Aren't They Buying?", Karon Thackston
takes a closer look at the buying process. She also gives specific advice on how
to satisfy a visitor's information needs according to the visitor's stage in the
buying process.
New ecommerce information site is on the way...
I am working on a new information site Take-Payments-Online. ECommerce
explained. When complete, the Website will detail the steps, options, fees,
and pitfalls involved with accepting payments from your Website.
ECommerce Website Solution and Design - ECommerce explained: online and
Internet merchant accounts, how to
accept credit cards online, about fees, and more.
Please do me a favor and send a short note...
...to any instructors you know who may be interested in evaluating my
comprehensive marketing and Web promotion book "How Much for Just the Spider?
Strategic Website Marketing".
As a text, the book is applicable to courses attended by business
professionals, small business managers, and/or entrepreneurs. I have a special
section for instructors here:
Thank you for your help.

They're Searching So Why Aren't They Buying?
Article by Karon Thackston ©
2003,

There seems to be a common myth regarding site visitors and the buying
process these days. Karon's heard this statement more than a few times
over the last several months: "My visitors find me when they use search engines.
They type in the exact key phrases I'm listed under. So when they get to my site
why aren't they buying?"
In her article, Karon explains why they aren't buying and
what to do to fix it.

An
important question to answer when creating or revising a Website is
"What are the goals of this site?" because the answer will drive your site
design and marketing decisions. A good way to choose the correct
goals is
to think in terms of the customer decision making process.
This article explains how to
design and market your site to complement the customer decision making process.
